If I was ever able to build an Attorney, Eddie R Calderon, would be that Attorney.
I had the absolute pleasure to be in a courtroom with him recently, and I did say pleasure. I know, sounds like a misnomer, but it's true, court was fun. It was not just fun, it was an event of true Justice that is rare in today's courtroom.
I have railed at the cost of "Justice" today, at how we are forced to need the services of an attorney, and how the Legal System today is more corrupted than effective. This Prosecutor turned all of that around, for once Justice wasn't a word, but an action.
I was amazed at the compassion and courtesy he showed for the Defendants, at how he was willing to work with them to come to a reasonable and fair conclusion. I watched in fascination as he got the courtroom to help a lady pay part of her fine, how he let 3 people go home and get money instead of going to jail, and my favorite, how he gave Community Service instead of a fine. This is the model for all Prosecutorial Attorneys and the standard for all in the Legal System. This is exactly what I have been trying say about how our system should function.
Thank you Mr. Calderon for being a man of Integrity and a Champion of Justice, I hope you inspire and teach the abusers, the lazy, the frustrated or jaded, and the apathetic that we can have Justice AND serve the people, all well within the law.
You are a true inspiration and a fine example of my idea of the Perfect Attorney!
