Yes, the title is a pun, "Phillip Morris is the Devil, Bobby!"

The reason cited for the bill is to discourage under-aged smoking. The lawmakers say they feel that flavored cigarettes appeal more to under-aged smokers and people who never smoked before. If this is true, then why are menthol cigarettes still legal? Because menthol cigarettes make up about a quarter of $52 billion in annual sales for Phillip-Morris alone. It's pocket change to lobby for this bill to be passed in order to protect their interests. Aside from that, the U.S has their own hind-ends to look after. Even though Congresswoman Virginia Foxx clearly stated that this is a violation of WTO. "According to WTO rules...an imported 'good' (clove cigarettes) should receive treatment that is 'no less favorable than that provided to a domestic good.' "
On October 1st 2009, Clove Cigarettes were banned in America. Sure, some of you think this is a move in the right direction, and you think, "Now if we could just ban the rest of them". However, this is shocking when you consider the facts behind this Ban. The organization that spearheaded this campaign was not the American Cancer Society or Truth.org, it was Marlborro maker, Phillip Morris. Who shall be known from this day forth as, Philthy Morrons
A cigarette company saying that cigarettes are dangerous, well then why do they continue to sell "their" brand? So called "Flavored Cigarettes" make up less than 30% of all cigarette sales, of that, Menthol is 98% of all flavored sales.
I have been an occasional "Clove" smoker for over 20 years. I cannot stand the taste of Regular or Menthol cigarettes, and coincidentally, most Regular cigarette smokers cannot stand the taste or smell of a Clove. Virtually all the Clove smokers I know started in college at 20 - 22 years of age, they smoked cloves on occasion, and most had quit smoking by the time they were 30. From my experience, the best way to stop smoking in America, is to demand that ALL cigarettes be made in clove flavor.
I do not understand, after having a tobacco company championing the "Flavored Cigarette Ban" how non-smoking organizations don't have fuel to ban all smoking items, Philthy Morrons really opened a can of worms with that one...oh, wait...no one is moving to ban all cigarettes. I guess Djarum should be paying a Senator off, and aligning with the American Cancer Society like the Philthy Morrons company does.
Until all cigarettes are banned, I do not support an industry insiders attempt at controlling the market for their gain in the Name of the People! This is another case of Big Business in sheep's clothing, parading around as righteous to make a buck.
So now you should be able to get a pack of Marlbogus, and read the warning label; Warning: Buying these cigarettes will support a company that engages in unethical, hypocritical, and monopolistic business policies; unfair trade practices; denying the right of the people to choose; and openly admitting that their product is dangerous and deadly to you and your children, while defending their right ALONE, to continue to sell it
